#1 Keep the Kids Busy
Taking care of the kids is one of the most common reasons moms cite for not having enough time to exercise. However, in most cases, this can be easily resolved. Have the kids spend the afternoon at a grandparent’s house, at a friend’s place, or hire a babysitter.
You can even encourage your kids to do after school activities like sports or cheerleading which can help them get more exercise while you find the time to exercise as well.
Multitasking is easiest when you are on the treadmill. Just set up a laptop or tablet where you can do your work while on the treadmill. Just because you have work to do does not mean you can’t get exercise while doing it. You can also incorporate more physical activity into your normal routine. This might mean taking the stairs instead of the elevator or walking/bicycling to work, for example.
#3 Get Up Early
The early bird catches the worm. Set your alarm earlier and get a quick workout in before work. You’d be surprised how great you’ll feel the rest of the day once you get used to it. You may also want to consider going for an early morning jog. Just remember, sleep is important. If you are waking up earlier, make sure you are going to bed earlier as well.
#4 Work Out During Lunch
Your hour lunch break at work does not have to be spent eating and sitting around. Stop by a nearby gym during lunch to squeeze in a quick 20 minute workout before going back to work. Getting some good physical exercise to break up a day of sitting at a desk can also help fight repetitive motion injuries like carpal tunnel syndrome and make you more productive at work.
