Love it or hate it, the cold weather is coming. While there are many perks to this time of year (time with family and friends, hot cocoa, nights by the fireplace, etc.) there is one thing that many of us experience that can make these months a struggle: lack of motivation. Now, there’s no science behind this, but we can’t help but think that the lack of motivation so many of us feel is because of the cold weather that immediately makes us want to stay in, by the fire, with a cup of hot cocoa and a good book. 

Although we entirely understand how this can be appealing, this is also the leading cause of weight gain during this time of year. After months of keeping your summer body in check or achieving new heights with your workout, the last thing that you want is to let it all go because the mini marshmallows were calling your name. That is why the team at Pumpfit Club in Fort Lauderdale wants to take today to talk about ways that you can stay motivated in the months to come. Let’s get started.

Find a Workout Buddy

Accountability is something that we all benefit from, and while there are some that are able to hold themselves accountable 99% of the time, many of us benefit from an outside source telling us what to do. One of the best ways to get that accountability without going all-in with a trainer is finding a workout buddy. 

Chat with a few of your closest friends and figure out if any of them are looking to continue working out during this time of the year. If they are, ask if they would like to be your workout buddy, or at least if they’d be interested in keeping each other accountable during this time of year. Chances are they’ll appreciate it as much as you do!

Find a Class You Enjoy

Working out is so much easier when you enjoy what you’re doing. If there’s a particular class that you love getting up and going to, don’t stop now! Whether it’s the people in the class, the instructor, or the workout itself, these types of passion and excitement can keep you motivated to attend.

Now, on the other hand, if you’ve been doing the same workout for months, it may be time to switch it up! This time of the year makes for a great opportunity to try new workout classes. Maybe there’s a particular workout you’ve been interested in trying but just haven’t gotten around to; this is the time to do it!
